J-SHIELD Anti-Jamming + Anti-Spoofing
Embedded capability that detects, displays, and rejects falsified or jammed signals to protect mission-critical operations in real time.
Rise in RF interference incidents in European en-route aviation since 2018
High RFI levels more than doubled in Thailand June 2023 vs June 2020-21
More than 10,000 ships reported GNSS interference in Q2 2025
38.5% of European en-route traffic travels through RFI-affected zones
Jamming disrupts communication by overwhelming the target receiver with noise. It involves transmitting high-powered signals to interfere with the normal operation of navigation systems, such as GPS. This results in the legitimate signals being drowned out, making it difficult or impossible for the receiver to track the signal and calculate PVT.
Spoofing aims to deceive the target by mimicking legitimate signals and sending false information. It involves creating and transmitting fake signals that the receiver interprets as authentic.
For example, in GPS spoofing, false ephemerids and other navigation data are transmitted to mislead the receiver. This leads the target to believe the false information is accurate, which can result in misguided navigation.
J-Shield How It Works
J-Shield and the custom JAVAD ASIC at the heart of every JAVAD receiver provide continuous monitoring and verify signal noise levels. They automatically identify and reject falsified transmissions and display them for operator awareness.
Continuous signal noise scanning and analysis both preserving true signal integrity while increasing performance.
Maintain and isolate validated signals for reliable fix.
Real-time signal display distinguishes true and identified false signals and jamming attempts.
Dynamic signal rejection occurs when noise levels are detected as falsified or jamming attempts.

This is a robust filter in JAVAD antennas that blocks out-of-band interference, particularly signals near the GNSS bands. It provides up to 100 dB of protection, ensuring that the GNSS bands remain clear.

JAVAD IBIR digital filters protect against in-band interference. It uses 16 adaptive 80th-order filters that can be combined for complex signal processing.

JAVAD systems include patented technology for detecting and mitigating spoofing and jamming attacks. This allows our receivers to be deployed in demanding environments while maintaining high precision.
JAVAD receivers possess an advanced spectrum analyzer integrated within our GNSS TRIUMPH chip. This analyzer provides detailed spectra, illustrating the power and shape of interfering signals and jammers.

Users can easily monitor and configure the status of JAVAD receivers using NetView software, which provides a comprehensive tool for managing and securing GNSS data.
GNSS is a critical component of commercial, mission critical applications. JAVAD GNSS is proud to offer patented signal protection as part of its OEM, GNSS enclosure, and smart antenna product lines.
